"Maybe we should have just called it Incredibles 2: Judgement Day."
It isn't hyperbole to say that Brad Bird is a bit of a genius.
The writer and director behind The Iron Giant, Ratatouille, as well as helming Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Tomorrowland, Bird kicked off his career properly when he worked on The Simpsons during its golden age and is regularly attributed to being the guy who created Sideshow Bob.
So, yeah, proper genius.
On top of that, Bird is also the guy who wrote and directed the first Incredibles movie and has returned 14 years later for the sequel, which picks up the story just moments after the first movie's story ends.
We were lucky enough to sit down with him and the movie's producer John Walker to discuss the new animated blockbuster, but first things first... what happened to the 'The'?
The first movie was called The Incredibles, and the sequel is called Incredibles 2. Where'd the 'The' go?
Well, Bird and Walker have a hilarious answer for that, as well as chatting about making a female-centric superhero movie, avoiding paying taxes, and why they love visiting Ireland.
