We’ll be watching even more intently now.
The best daytime TV quiz show in the business has just gotten more interesting with the news that Irish man Darragh Ennis is joining The Chase as the new sixth chaser.
ITV confirmed the news to JOE on Thursday after Ennis announced the news on social media.
I'm really excited to be the 6th chaser on #TheChase . I've been working hard on this for a while now and can't wait for my episodes to air. Well the ones I win anyway.

A former contestant on The Chase, he received a warm welcome from his fellow chasers online with Paul Sinha describing him as the “best player” he ever faced.
@bones_giles welcome to the pros kid. If you thought you were working hard before, you ain’t seen nothing yet 🙂
To be a winner, train like the Sinha! @paulsinha #thechase— Mark Labbett (@MarkLabbett) April 16, 2020
The night before they producers told us, Anne and Mark and I sat at dinner and pondered "Could it be a former contestant". I said, "If it is, the best player I faced was an Irish guy who looked a bit like Micky Flanagan" Welcome to the club mate. https://t.co/6lpTu9DaOW

Darragh appeared on the show back in 2017 and banked £9,000 for the team during his cash builder, but his teammates took the lower offers, which dramatically decreased the team fund.
His new role means Darragh will be the sixth chaser on the show, joining Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Jenny Ryan, Anne Hegarty and Paul Sinha.
We look forward to seeing Darragh’s first episode.
