“Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”

While Sundays are supposed to be about resting, recharging and prepping for the week ahead – they’re often filled with shame, regret and fear of the next morning’s impending rush.

This is often made better by the addition of duvets, dogs and deadly films – so it’s a good thing that the deadliest film of all is hitting Irish telly tonight, to soften the blow of Sunday night fears.

Tonight sees the screening of The Shawshank Redemption, aka the highest-ranking movie on IMDB’s Top 250 Titles list, where it has sat on top since overtaking The Godfather in 2008.

The multi-award winning film stars Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, William Sadler, Clancy Brown and many more as they navigate life in a maximum security prison.

Virgin Media One is pulling out the big guns following their recent name change, which will inevitably take people years to get right.

If it keeps providing content like Shawshank, however, it won’t be long until the acronym VM1 makes it into our common vocabulary.

The Shawshank Redemption airs on Virgin Media One at 9pm.
