DAMMIT! What are we on now? Day 56 or something?

Good news for fans of 24 as exclusive plot details have been teased from the upcoming limited series, 24: Live Another Day.

Set several years after the events of Season 8, the new series will loosely adhere to the show’s famous real time concept but, with only 12 episodes altogether, there will be jumps forward in time between certain installments.

12 episodes in a show called 24!? That’s like calling Friends Compatriots, or Dawson’s Creek Dawson’s Rivulet. Which is just plain wrong. Because nobody knows what the hell a ‘rivulet’ is.

It’s just like a creek in case you were wondering.

According to Sky News, Sutherland will be rejoined by some of Bauer’s old buddies including Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) and James Heller (William Devane), while a recent tweet from one of the show’s executive producers, David Fury, hinted at a possible return for everyone’s favourite awesome agent who’s name is Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard):

What we’re reading into that is that you’re a massively vague basta*d David.

The longest-running espionage-themed television drama ever will this time be set in London and, in addition to those aforementioned fan favourites, the show’s cast will also see the inclusion of Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski as “brilliant but impulsive CIA agent Kate Morgan.”

We’re no experts, but we’re pretty sure that that isn’t standard CIA apparel she’s wearing there. She’ll catch her sexy death of cold before she catches any terrorists…

Quotes from one of 24’s other executive producers, Manny Coto, also reveal that “Jack is still hunted when the show begins. The show will open with that dynamic – a CIA agent hunting Jack where in their minds he’s not quite Osama bin Laden, but he’s a fugitive of high order. Someone to be captured. We will learn Jack has a mission. Whether it’s a good mission, a dark mission…”

The new series is due to air in the US on May 5 on FOX and here at JOE we’ll keep you informed as soon as a date is announced for Irish viewers.

Oh alright then, one more, but this is the last one, OK?
