Two pieces of news that made all of us here in JOE Towers very happy…
JOE vividly remembers the furore that surrounded the casting news of the late great Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight but god almighty did he silence any doubters with his incredible portrayl of the clown prince of crime.
Jack Nicholson was great in Tim Burton’s original, Ledger was even better and now it looks like the Oscar winning Jared Leto is set to step into the role for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
According to The Wrap, Leto, who won an Oscar this year for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, is set to play Batman’s nemesis after Ryan Gosling turned down the role as he didn’t want to sign a deal for multiple films.
The Joker’s girlfriend, Harley Quinn, is also set to star and we couldn’t be any happier to see the The Wolf of Wall Street’s rather lovely Margot Robbie set to play the part.
Tom Hardy and Will Smith are also being linked with roles in the film which has very quickly jumped to the top placings on our list of ‘ones to watch’.
So what do you make of this piece of potential casting news. JOE thinks that Leto would be an inspired choice while we would watch Margot Robbie star in a film about paint drying.
