Jeremy Piven insists he did not make sexual advances towards Ariane Bellamar.

Actor Jeremy Piven has angrily denied making sexual advances towards actress Ariane Bellamar.

Bellamar – who has had minor roles in Suicide Squad and The Hangover Part III – accused Mr. Selfridge star Piven of groping her on the set of Entourage and again at the Playboy Mansion.

Piven, however, has issued a statement in which he unequivocally denies the allegations in Bellamar’s tweets.

“I unequivocally deny the appalling allegations being peddled about me,” the 52-year-old stated.

“It did not happen. It takes a great deal of courage for victims to come forward with their histories, and my hope is that the allegations about me that didn’t happen, do not detract from stories that should be heard.”

Earlier this week, production on the sixth series of House of Cards was halted after allegations against its star Kevin Spacey were made by actor Anthony Rapp.

The 58-year-old Spacey drew widespread condemnation for his decision to come out as gay in a statement in which in which he apologised to Rapp, while adding that he did not remember the incident from 1986.
