Spotlight tells the fascinating true story of the Boston Globe investigation into the cover-up of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church.
It has one of the greatest ensemble casts of recent times with Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Liev Schreiber, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci and John Slattery all delivering stellar performances.
The film has been a hit with critics and it’s nominated for six Academy Awards which include Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
JOE’s Joe Harrington sat down with the film’s director Tom McCarthy in Dublin to chat about the response to the film, its links with Ireland, his own Irish roots and all of those Oscar nominations.
