It was inevitable.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson – it’s going to take a while to get used to writing that out, isn’t it? – has been in power for just a few days and he’s already gotten the John Oliver treatment.
For anyone unfamiliar, John Olivier is the host of Last Week Tonight, a HBO show that deals with topical issues in both humorous and informative fashion.
Every episode features a lengthy focused breakdown of a notable current event, be it the FIFA World Cup, professional wrestling, and Brexit.
That last one has, naturally enough, been something of a recurring issue. And wouldn’t you know it, Brexit plays a part in the latest edition as Boris Johnson is profiled and lampooned accordingly.
On the agenda? Comparisons to Donald Trump and key differences thereof, Johnson’s successful manipulation of the media, and the more dangerous and despicable aspects of his character.
It’s all very well done and compelling, if horrendously depressing at the same time.
