“I used to think my life was a tragedy, but now I realise it’s a comedy.”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Joker.

Plot’s it all about?

There have been a lot of actors to play The Greatest Villain Of All Time through the years.

From the camp classic of Cesar Romero back in the day, to Jack Nicholson burning a hole in the screen against Michael Keaton. Mark Hamill absolutely killed it during The Animated Series, Zach Galifianakis did an okay job in The LEGO Batman Movie, but most people probably associate Heath Ledger as being the ultimate portrayal of the character.

The less to be said about Jared Leto, the better.

Now we’ve got the three-time Oscar-nominee Joaquin Phoenix taking it on, under the eye of an interesting director choice, Todd Phillips, the man behind The Hangover and Old School.

This new Joker movie is apparently not directly tied to the DC Extended Universe as we know it (so don’t expect Phoenix to pop up in the next Batman movie), but does represent another interesting, creative step in the DC movies, as they continue to take more interesting risks which each of their projects.

And this one definitely looks … interesting. And creepy!

Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Frances Conroy
