Kit Harington is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Carl Kinsella

Kit Harington

Maybe he’ll play a character called Snow-Man?

Kit Harington, famous for playing know-nothing Jon Snow on the phenomenally successful Game of Thrones, looks set to join another massive franchise.

Movie magazine Deadline has reported that the actor’s next project is set to be something within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though further details are not yet forthcoming.

Nabbing a star like Harington would be good news for the MCU, which suffered a disastrous blow earlier this week. Talks between Sony and Disney over the licensing rights to the Spider-Man character came to a halt, meaning that Disney will no longer be making Spider-Man movies, effectively ending Tom Holland’s very successful run as Peter Parker.

Harington’s role in the MCU hasn’t been revealed yet – it’s not even known whether he’ll be involved in the movies or one of the many Marvel shows on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service, but it’s likely we’ll know more soon as Disney’s D23 expo continues throughout the weekend.

Earlier this summer, Marvel provided details on their next dozen or so projects – including both big and small-screen ventures, and confirmed extensions of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Thor, Black Widow and Doctor Strange franchises.

The TV shows include WandaVision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and Loki.

There’s also the small matter of future X-Men films to be considered…

So here does Kit Harington fit? We know nothing, Jon Snow. Yet.
