John Krasinski talks about a The Office revival with Ellen

The Office

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.

The Office alumus John Krasinski, known for perfectly portraying sales representative-turned-co-manager Jim Halpert, was on The Ellen Show this week to talk about his family, his new show Jack Ryan and awkward teenage photos.

And while DeGeneres didn’t question him about his new facial hair, the talk-show host did bring up the thing we’d all been wondering – might a potential The Office reunion be on the cards?

The question comes following a surge of popular TV show revivals in recent months such as The Gilmore Girls, Will & Grace and Charmed.

After indicating that he learned about the project “on the Internet,” Krasinski good-naturedly jokes that perhaps Jim Halpert’s presence was not desired in the series continuation.

“Guess who didn’t get a call? Me,” he tells DeGeneres. “What does that say? ‘Know who we didn’t like? Jim!’”

Krasinski played paper salesman Jim Halpert in NBC’s adaptation of the British sitcom. The character’s friendship-turned-romance with receptionist Pam Beesly (played by Jenna Fischer) was a strong throughline of the ensemble series.

“I haven’t gotten a call yet,” Krasinski says, adding that he would return if asked. “Oh my god, are you kidding?” he says. “I’d love to get that gang back together.”

And according to Screenrant, this could soon be a reality.

NBC is reportedly thinking about bringing back The Office. There were rumours about a revival earlier on in the year and while a return to Scranton is by no means a certainty, it seems that there is definitely some interest in bringing it back.

And now that one of the series’ biggest stars said that he’s keen? We’re gonna think about this long and hard.

(That’s what she said.)
