The Last Of Us season 3 expected in 2027 as game’s future stays unclear

Season three of HBO's hit adaptation is expected to air some time in 2027, though no official date has been confirmed, while the future of the video game series remains up in the air.

As Screen Rant reports, Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann has offered mixed messages on whether a third game is coming.

Having previously suggested "this could be it", he later said in 2024's Grounded II documentary that "it does feel like there is probably one more chapter to the story".

For now, the studio's focus is on its brand-new title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

There is at least something for collectors in the meantime. A new Ellie Quarter Scale Statue, produced by Sideshow in collaboration with Prime 1 Studio, is up for pre-order ahead of shipping in December 2027. 

Limited to 350 pieces, the Standard edition costs £851.29 while the Bonus edition rises to £1,043.89.

Irish viewers can catch the first two seasons of the show on Sky Atlantic and NOW, where season three is expected to land once HBO confirms a date.
