This will decide which song will represent Ireland in the Eurovision this May.

The 67th Eurovision takes place this May in Liverpool, as the UK volunteered to host the event after Ukraine won the competition in 2022. This Friday night, six hopeful acts from Ireland will perform on The Late Late Show, with one act being ultimately chosen to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Viewers at home will have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favourite song and help to decide who will represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, with commentator Marty Whelan also on hand to capture all the backstage action throughout the show as our Green Room correspondent, and Tubridy will be joined in studio by an expert Eurovision panel.

The six competing acts and their songs are as follows:

  • ADGY – “Too Good for your Love”
  • CONNOLLY – “Midnight Summer Night”
  • Wild Youth – “We are One”
  • Leila Jane – “Wild”
  • K Muni & ND, Kofi Appiah and Nevlonne Dampare – “Down in the Rain”
  • Public Image Limited – “Hawaii”

On the Eurovision special, Tubridy said the following: “This Friday is going to have a big, bright and sparkly line up of acts. Big stars, big numbers and big expectations because this could well be Ireland’s chance to reclaim their title as Eurovision winners. So, I would say get ready to party and join us for what should be quite the extravaganza.”

Ireland will compete in the first half of the first semi-final in Liverpool on Tuesday, 9 May, with another semi-final taking place on Thursday, 11 May, before the final on Saturday, 13 May. Currently, Ireland still holds the record for most Eurovision wins, with a tally of seven victories at the contest, although the most recent win was with Eimear Quinn performing “The Voice” back in 1996.

The Late Late Eurosong Special airs on RTÉ One on Friday 3 February at 9.35pm.
