Here’s the line-up for this week’s episode of The Late Late Show

Stephen Porzio

Late Late Show

It’s a packed programme.

Friday is right around the corner, meaning The Late Late Show will be back on screens. So, who will be in conversation with host Ryan Tubridy on the 6 January show?

Well, Dancing with the Stars judge Julian Benson will talk about buying a house for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patients and their families to stay in while they are receiving treatment in hospital.

This was done with money raised through Julian Benson CF Foundation, as well as money raised on The Late Late Show.

However, before opening the doors to this house, Benson has a big project ahead of him in terms of renovating it and will be appealing to the public on the night for their support.

Also on the programme will be Olympian, winner of Love Island 2019 and House of Rugby pundit Greg O’Shea.

He will join Tubridy on the couch to chat about rising to fame, retiring from rugby and the impact the last three years have taken on his mental health.

Meanwhile, with Operation Transformation returning to screens earlier in the week, The Late Late Show will welcome this year’s leaders Andrea Daly, Lorraine Dempsey, Marie Clear, Stephanie Bowden and Thomas Hynes.

This is as they embark on a health and wellness plan that is designed to kick-start a new chapter in their lives.

Also joining Tubridy will be Sunday World investigative journalist and podcaster Nicola Tallant.

With the nation transfixed by the Regency Hotel murder trial, Tallant will discuss how the Kinahan gang rose to become one of the biggest crime cartels in the world and how it is all come crashing down after they found themselves in the crosshairs of the US authorities.

As well as all this, to mark Nollaig Na mBan, there will be a very special performance by some of Ireland’s best female singers and musicians.

These include Faye O’Rourke (Soda Blonde), Krea (Wyvern Lingo), Niamh Farrell (Ham Sandwich),  Pamela Connolly (Pillow Queens), Saibh Skelly and Susan O’Neill.

They will perform Sinead O’Connor’s hit ‘Mandinka’ with the Theodora Byrne choir and an all-female band.

And in the spirit of Nollaig na mBan, Tosin Bankole will also perform a special version of the classic ‘Respect’.
