This is the latest news on a potential House of Cards comeback

Will it be back?

Carl Kinsella

One of Netflix’s flagship shows House of Cards had its future thrown into doubt when its star Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct by several people across the industry.

Many, including actor Anthony Rapp, said that Kevin Spacey had sexually abused them. In response, Netflix announced that the show’s upcoming season would be its final one — and suspended production indefinitely.

It was announced yesterday that the show was extending its hiatus on production as far as December 8, at which point there would be a further update. It has been speculated that production will eventually continue with Kevin Spacey’s character Frank Underwood written out of the series. Spacey has already been fired from the show.

A letter from Media Rights Capital to staff read “We continue to work with Netflix with the hope of resuming production soon. As we continue these discussions, we have determined together that the crew will be paid for an additional two week hiatus – beginning on November 27th and continuing through December 8th.”

“These last two months have tested and tried all of us in ways none of us could have foreseen. The one thing we have learned throughout this process is that this production is bigger than just one person and we could not be more proud to be associated with one of the most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business.”
