Lidl’s response to the story of Tara the lamb was very quick but a little cold

Alan Loughnane

Ouch…

The entire country were encapsulated by the moving story of Tara the lamb on last night’s Late Late Toy Show.

Darragh, from Co Down, is a keen farmer and told Ryan Tubridy all about his pet lamb called Tara who he hadn’t seen in a while.

When asked where she had gone, Darragh informed us that his dad had sent her to the factory and she’d gone to heaven.

Poor Darragh became confused when Ryan asked if he’d seen her again in another form… too soon Ryan, it was all too raw for him to be making a joke like that.

We’d just been introduced to the concept of Tara and before we could even acclimatise, she was ripped away from us leaving us to ponder what may have been if Darragh’s dad hadn’t sent her to the factory.

Although Darragh didn’t let it affect him too much by producing a brilliant rendition of ‘Hit the diff’.

But it was Lidl on Twitter who were on the ball when it came to a response to the story of Tara…

Heartless but genius… well played.
