The story follows Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum), a divorced father in West Virginia who has just been laid off from his construction job in the tunnels underneath the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. This was for failing to inform the manager about the leg injuries he sustained during his football career in high school.
"Complications arise when a mix-up forces the crew to pull off the heist during a popular NASCAR race while also trying to dodge a relentless FBI agent (Hilary Swank)," the plot synopsis adds.
Thanks to its effortlessly charming cast and Soderbergh's fun, zippy direction, the movie feels like a standalone sequel to the filmmaker's earlier heist trilogy. That said, because the heroes in Logan Lucky are ordinary, blue-collar people down-on-their-luck (the heist is referred to within the story as “Ocean's 7-Eleven"), you care even more about them, hoping they can pull off the impossible.
Logan Lucky is airing on TV tonight on Sky Comedy at 9pm. The movie is also available to stream on the service now.
Missing - Film4 - 9pm
The stand-alone sequel to the hit screen-life thriller Searching.

The Last Son - Legend Xtra - 9pm
Sam Worthington (the Avatar trilogy) stars in this Western as a murderous outlaw who learns he is cursed by a prophecy: one of his children will kill him.
To prevent this, he hunts down each of his estranged children, including his long-lost son (rapper Machine Gun Kelly).
Year of the Gun - Legend Xtra - 11.05pm
From the director of The Manchurian Candidate and Ronin, this thriller follows an American journalist (Andrew McCarthy) in Italy during the 1970s, a time of political and social turmoil for the country known as “the years of lead".

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 11 August) is Logan Lucky, the brilliant 2017 caper comedy from director Steven Soderbergh (The Christophers, Full Circle, the Ocean's Trilogy).
As such, Jimmy teams up with his equally unlucky brother Clyde (Adam Driver), who lost his lower arm while a soldier in the Iraq War, and his car-savvy sister Mellie (Riley Keough), to rob the speedway. The trio also recruit incarcerated demolition expert Joe Bang (a bleach blond Daniel Craig) to help them break into the track's underground system.
Logan Lucky's star-studded ensemble also includes Ireland's own Brian Gleeson, as well as Dwight Yoakam, Jack Quaid, Katherine Waterston, Katie Holmes, Sebastian Stan and Seth McFarlane.
