Matthew Weiner rules out ever writing a spin-off to ‘Mad Men’

Unlike Breaking Bad, when it's done it's done.

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has ruled out any spin-off once the show comes to an end on 2015.

The show has become one of the most iconic in television history since first appearing in 2007, looking at the world of advertising in the 1960s through the eyes of the charismatic Don Draper, Roger Sterling and associates.

The seventh and final season of Mad Men will debut on Sky Atlantic in Ireland on April 16th and will be split into two parts – like Breaking Bad and The Sopranos before it – with the second part following next year.

While Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is hard at work on spin-off Better Call Saul, Weiner says that’s a road he will never go down.

“For Mad Men, there is no sequel. I completely rule it out,” he told TV Guide.

“I don’t know what’s going to be on my mind when the show is over but there is no plan to revisit this world.

“I have no intention of doing more of this.”
