Lindsay Lohan really wants to do a Mean Girls sequel

Rudi Kinsella

And we mean a proper sequel, none of that Mean Girls 2 bollocks.

It’s almost considered a rite of passage to watch Mean Girls at some point when you’re a growing up. And that doesn’t just apply to girls, as the name of the movie might suggest, this applies to everyone.

It’s educational, it’s accurate, and it’s absolutely hilarious.

Which is why when Mean Girls 2 came out, with none of the original cast (except for Tim Meadows in his role as the principal), fans were so disappointed to see that it was fairly terrible.

But 15 years after the original came out, we are getting closer to the possibility of an actual sequel to the classic film.

In an interview with Variety, Lindsay Lohan, who stars in the movie, has made it very clear that she is extremely open to doing a sequel to Mean Girls.

She said: “If anyone has asked for this more than I have, please tell me. I’ve said it so many times, and so many people have asked me, and I think we’d have so much fun doing it.

“Tina (Fey) and Lorne (Michaels) are so amazing, and to bring everyone back together would be great. Last time I was in New York, I went up to Lorne, and I was like, “Please!” It’s in their hands.”

Lohan has even gone as far as to pitch an idea to Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie.

“I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another ‘Mean Girls,’ like an older version where they’re all housewives and they’re all cheating. That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it.”

That is about as clear as anyone can be. Come on guys, let’s get the gang back together and get this done!
