Any Stillwater fans still around?

We warned you yesterday that the weather was set to be miserable.

Looks like we were entirely correct.

It’s still very cold, and very wet out there.

So wrap up warm, and stay in for another night of popcorn in front of the telly.

Here’s JOE’s picks for the movies on TV tonight (17 May).

Die Another Day – ITV4 – 9pm

Brosnan’s final outing as Bond, marking the end of an era for Meath people everywhere.

Top Gun – Sky Showcase – 9pm

Catch up on the first entry before you go see the excellent sequel.

The Girl In The Spider’s Web – Film4 – 9pm

A reboot-although-not-really of the Millenium series adaptation starring Claire Foy.

Exorcist: The Beginning – Horror Channel – 9pm

Stellan Skarsgård fights demons in this awful, awful prequel.

Jarhead – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Pre-Bond Sam Mendes directs this biographical war drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Descent – SyFy – 10pm

Women fight cave monsters. Hilarity ensues.

Super 8 – Film4 – 11.15pm

JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg team up to create a love letter to student filmmaking and sci-fi.

The Graduate – BBC Two – 11.15pm

Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson.

Almost Famous – Great! Movies – 11.15pm

Our top pick for tonight is an Oscar winning modern classic.

A teenage music journalist for Rolling Stones is sent on tour with a band, and ends up on the ride of his life.

The film won Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars in 2001, and the soundtrack is deadly. Well worth a viewing.

Sleepless – Virgin Media Two – 11.25pm

Appropriate that a bad Jamie Foxx thriller called “Sleepless” would be shown past 11 o’clock at night.

Ocean’s Twelve – Turner Classic Movies – 11.40pm

The worst in the franchise, but still a bit of fun.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
