Lock and load.

Hey hey, it’s Monday.

Maybe you want to avoid all the I’m a Celeb-related carnage, of which there is quite a lot, actually.

Let’s have some Movies on TV, so. Actually, while we’re at it – do take our latest JOE Movie Quiz.

Right, let’s see what’s going down tonight – Monday, 7 November…

Sleepless in Seattle – Film4 – 6.45pm

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in one of the most successful romantic comedies of all time.

The Perfect Storm – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

A film fit for a wet and windy Monday, The Perfect Storm tells the story of a real-life fishing crew that ignore severe warnings and head out into a dangerous area of the North Atlantic in search of the last lucrative catch of the season.

However, tragedy strikes and the men involved end up fighting for survival in historically disastrous conditions. George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, John C. Reilly and Diane Lane feature.

The Favourite – Film4 – 9pm

Oscar-winning and critically-acclaimed dark comedy in which two women (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz) engage in bitter battle over the affections of the eccentric Queen of England (Olivia Colman).

The American – TG4 – 9.30pm

Our main pick for you this evening.

A hitman (George Clooney again) lies low in an Italian village after a brush with death, tempting fate by pursuing a relationship with a local woman.

Underrated and very stylish drama-thriller from director Anton Corbijn, who shot to fame by making videos for the likes of Depeche Mode, Nirvana and U2 before turning his attention to feature films.

Death Wish 2 – ITV4 – 11pm

The second one.

Spy – Film4 – 11.25pm

Jason Statham completely steals this Melissa McCarthy-fronted espionage comedy.

Outbreak – Turner Classic Movies – 11.40pm

Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Donald Sutherland attempt to deal with the unleashing of a deadly contagion. Hits different in a post-Covid world, let me tell you.

Nerve – Film4 – 1.45am

Silly social media thriller with Emma Roberts and Dave Franco.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
