Friday, is it?
Yes. It is, in fact, Friday. Friday 14 December, to be precise.
You might wish to get involved with the two big chat shows that take place this evening.
Or perhaps you’d prefer to watch a movie or two. If that’s the case, read on for your television options this evening…
The World’s End – E4 – 9pm
Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy concludes as an especially abrasive Simon Pegg gets his mates back together to complete a mythical pub crawl.
Mechanic: Resurrection – Film 4 – 9pm
Jason Statham returns as the slick assassin who offs his targets in increasingly inventive ways until people do their best to kill him and those he cares about.
Jessica Alba and a soul patch-sporting Tommy Lee Jones provide support.
The Fast and the Furious – ITV2 – 9pm
Where the wildly successful and increasingly fascinating franchise began.
Faster – SyFy – 9pm
Not a Fast & Furious entry despite the presence of The Rock, who heads up a decent enough thriller in which Billy Bob Thornton is on his tail throughout.
Rocky III – RTÉ Two – 9.3opmÂ
The one with Mr. T and Hulk Hogan.
Coming to America – Universal TV – 10.10pm
Eddie Murphy ventures to America. Hijinks ensue.
American History X – ITV4 – 11.20pm
The politics of racism-fuelled drama American History X feel a touch confused at times, but you can’t fault the committed performances from both Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
Predator – Channel 4 – 12.05am
Like this needs any kind of introduction.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
