Crucial info if you’re staying in tonight.

Ireland has had a messy week, in many ways.

Let’s not get into it, and try to escape in the world of film.

Here are the best flicks on the box tonight:

Baywatch – 9pm – E4

Gorgeous people running on a beach. What’s not to like?

Ladybird – 9pm – BBC Two

One of Ireland’s greatest talents, Saoirse Ronan, gives one of her best performances in this Golden Globe-winning film.

Friends With Benefits – 9pm – Comedy Central

Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake try to work things out as, yep, friends with benefits. A decent watch if you’re looking for something light.

RoboCop 2 – 9pm – ITV 4

He’s a robot AND a cop.

Kingsman: The Secret Service – 10pm – RTÉ 2

Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Samuel L Jackson star in a really enjoyable comedy action flick that is surprisingly exciting from start to finish.

The Inbetweeners 2- 10pm – Channel 4

Definitely not as good as the first movie, but still good for a few big laughs if you’re in the mood for some immature fun tonight.

No Escape – 10.15pm – RTÉ One

Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan star in a decent action thriller about a revolution in Asia.

The Lost Boys – 10.45pm – BBC One

Two teenage brothers move houses with their mother, and end up falling in with the wrong crowd. Still holds up to this day, even though it’s over 30 years old.
