MCU movies

But is it a great Friday for movies?

Let’s find out.

You know the drill.

Here’s the best of the Hollywood bunch on the box today…

Liar Liar – ITV2 – 7.15pm

Jim Carrey goes full rubber-face as a man who can no longer lie.

Doctor Strange – ITV – 8.30pm

Benedict Cumberbatch joins the MCU as an arrogant genius who isn’t Tony Stark but might as well be. Decent fun, with fun visual trickery along the way.

Rocky Balboa – ITV4 – 9pm

A most impressive comeback that paved the way for Creed.

American Pie 2 – ITV2 – 9pm

Not as good as the original, but fair enough as far as comedies of its nature go.

Bo66y – RTÉ 2 – 10.30

Documentary profiling the life, times, professional successes and personal challenges of World Cup-winning West Ham icon Bobby Moore.

Crank 2: High Voltage – Film 4 – 11.10pm

If you thought Crank couldn’t get any more fucked up, you’re mistaken.

13 Going on 30 – RTÉ One – 11.50pm

Jennifer Garner’s wacky tribute to Big, featuring Mark Ruffalo in support.

Robot & Frank – BBC One – 12.35am

Offbeat, touching drama about a retired jewel thief who learns to form a bond with his new robot butler boasting a terrific performance from Frank Langella.

Drive – SyFy – 1am

The coolest most hyper-violent deadly-sounding arthouse drama with feck-all dialogue you’ll see this side of Only God Forgives.

The Big Lebowski – Film 4 – 1.05am

The Dude abides.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
