The acclaimed movie is loosely based on true events.

Prime Video has just added one of 2023’s best comedy movies, but if you need more to watch – here are the films airing on TV this Saturday night (27 January):

American Made – Comedy Central – 9pm

Our pick for this evening is this 2017 action comedy loosely based on real events starring Tom Cruise.

In the movie, he plays an American pilot in the ’70s and ’80s who gets recruited to fly clandestine reconnaissance missions for the CIA before becoming a drug smuggler for the Medellín Cartel.

Boasting Cruise at his most charismatic, stylish direction from Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow, the upcoming Road House remake) and a handful of very memorable scenes, American Made was a hit with both audiences and critics upon release.

Also featuring amongst its cast such recognisable faces as Caleb Landry Jones, Domhnall Gleeson, Jayma Mays and Sarah Wright, the film is also available to stream on Netflix.
