Movies on TV Sunday 29 September

S U N D A Y.

Sunday.

Yep.

The end of the weekend.

But not the end of movie options from the comfort of the couch. Or bed. Or hammock. Whatever you’re partial to.

Here’s the most arresting around on this Sunday 29 September…

Now You See Me 2 – Film 4 – 6.25pm

Magic-themed caper sequel that should have been called Now You Don’t.

Mrs Doubtfire – E4 – 6.30pm

Robin Williams’ character arguably should have gone to prison for his actions here – almost murdering lovely Pierce Brosnan, for start – but it remains a superb showcase of his talents.

The Legend of Zorro – SyFy – 7pm

Antonio Banderas suits up as the legendary masked swordsman for the second and final time.

Captain America: Civil War – ITV2 – 7.10pm

Cracks begin to show in the Avengers as two sides ultimately come to blows.

Frantic – TCM – 9pm

Harrison Ford stumbles deep into the French underworld when his wife suddenly vanishes in this tense mystery thriller.

Anger Management – Comedy Central – 9pm

Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson test one another’s patience in a reliably over the top comedy vehicle.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer – SyFy – 10pm

Those pesky kids would have got away it if it wasn’t for a rushed and convoluted plot that sees them once again on the run from a hook-wielding killer. Fine by ’90s horror standards.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – Channel 4 – 12.05am

Back before superhero team-ups were all the rage, this one proved such a disaster that it effectively ended the careers of director Stephen Norrington and iconic actor Sean Connery.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
