Movies on TV Thursday 14 March

A bank holiday weekend approaches.

We’re not there quite yet, though.

That’s right, it’s Thursday.

And on this Thursday – 14 March – there are movies on the television for you to watch.

That’s generally how movies work. Let’s see what’s on, then…

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – Film 4 – 6.40pm

An Avengers-style team-up long before that was even a feasible idea, one that unites literary figures such as Dorian Gray, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Invisible Man.

It also spelled the end of not one, but two film careers, as Sean Connery essentially had enough after a difficult shoot that also marked the conclusion of Stephen ‘Blade’ Norrington’s directing run.

Fast & Furious 6 – Film 4 – 9pm

The Furious franchise kicks into another gear as the villainous Luke Evans and his team provide a dark mirror for Vin Diesel’s crew to square up against.

Passenger 57 – TCM – 9pm

Wesley Snipes tackles terrorism at 35,000 feet.

Ride Along 2 – Virgin Media One – 9pm

Further wacky antics with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.

Ali – ITV4 – 10.25pm

Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Michael Mann go all blood, sweat and tears as they bring a compelling portrait of Muhammed Ali to the screen.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
