Movies on TV Thursday 4 April

Thursday.

The weekend. Almost.

Movies on TV, though? That’s a daily occurrence around these parts.

Let’s get to it, so. Here are your finest film options on this Thursday, 4 April…

The River Wild – Film 4 – 6.50pm

Pulsating thriller on the rapids with Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon.

Goldfinger – ITV4 – 8pm

No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die.

Swordfish – TCM – 9pm

John Travolta chews the scenery with the help of the worst hair/facial hair combination of his career (which is saying something) as a comical super-terrorist who goes up against Hugh Jackman’s blonde highlights.

The turn of the century was wild, my friends.

The Fugitive – ITV4 – 10.15pm

Count the amount of times Harrison Ford should be handily dead in the first act.

Pain & Gain – Film 4 – 10.50pm

It’s tough to recommend a film like Pain & Gain given how utterly vile it is so let’s try to say a couple of nice things.

The Rock is fun in it. Michael Bay does have some okay comic timing (again, pretty gross, though) and this is a good example of how to take a fairly upsetting true story and completely disrespect the victims.

Enjoy?
