Movies on TV Tuesday 12 March

Gimme a T!

Gimme a U!

Gimme a… you get the idea. It’s Tuesday, everyone!

That’s right, it’s Tuesday. Not quite Monday and definitely not Wednesday.

All of which is to say that there are several films of note on the television on this Tuesday (12 March) so let’s take a look-see, shall we?

The Devil Wears Prada – Film 4 – 6.40pm

Anne Hathaway learns about a cut-throat industry.

Thor – Film 4 – 9pm

The one that made a star out of Chris Hemsworth.

Timecop – SyFy – 9pm

Jean-Claude Van Damme battles against time itself, some dodgy CGI, and a mullet in this ludicrous sci-fi actioner. He does the splits on a kitchen worktop at one point.

Double Team – TCM – 9pm

Van Damme again, this time teaming up with basketball sensation Dennis Rodman as they face off against Mickey Rourke at arguably his lowest ‘please just give me a job’ career ebb.

Tremors – ITV4 – 9pm

Blue collar workers Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward discover some monstrous trouble beneath the ground in this fast-paced creature feature.

Kick-Ass – Comedy Central – 9pm

If you like exceptionally obnoxious movies that are oddly proud of themselves, Kick-Ass is for you.

Tango & Cash – TCM – 11pm

Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell get their mismatched buddy cop game on as two very different (one wears a suit, the other does not) and yet quite similar lawmen team up to take down Jack Palance’s snarling villain.

Room – Film 4 – 11.15pm

Brie Larson powers her way to Oscar glory in Lenny Abrahamson’s no-frills adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s acclaimed novel.

A well-timed selection from the Film 4 crew, given that Captain Marvel is currently smashing th worldwide box office with considerable aplomb.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
