Movies on TV Tuesday 19 February

That’s right.

It’s Tuesday.

Not a terribly special day, generally, but it beats Monday.

Let’s take a look at what movies are on the box tonight – Tuesday 19 February – shall we?

Yes. Let’s.

A Beautiful Mind – Film 4 – 6.20pm

Russell Crowe goes all ‘sensitive drama’ opposite Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris and Paul Bettany in this Oscar-bait biopic.

Spider-Man 2 – Sky One – 8pm

The most enjoyable adventure in the Sam Raimi trilogy, featuring the strongest villain of that series in the form of Alfred Molina’s doomed Otto Octavius.

Safe – SyFy – 9pm

Jason Statham’s best film sees him rise above some very grim troubles in order to protect a hyper-intelligent child from various factions who mean to do her harm.

Smart, fast, well-shot and criminally under-appreciated.

Blade: Trinity – ITV4 – 10pm

Wesley Snipes visibly phones it in due to reportedly hating making this one.

The addition of Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel to the vampire franchise didn’t exactly please the man behind Blade (nor did the story really need them) but if you want to see Reynolds effectively auditioning for Deadpool, this is the movie for you.

47 Ronin – Film 4 – 10.50pm

Keanu Reeves in the mystical supernatural samurai warrior movie that you didn’t know you always wanted him to make.

Executive Decision – TCM – 11pm

Kurt Russell and Steven Seagal team up somewhat briefly to thwart terrorists.

Harold & Kumar Get the Munchies – Comedy Central – 11.20pm

Two stoner friends set off in search of very specific food only to be continually derailed in a series of unfortunate events.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
