Tuesday. The best day of the week.
It isn’t though, is it?
Tuesday – in this case, 25 September – is the big tease of the week.
You’re not quite at the midpoint, the weekend cobwebs still linger and the last thing you want to do is… well, anything, really.
Luckily, you have a bunch of sequels and one excellent independent film to choose from on the box tonight.
So, without further suspense…
Speed 2: Cruise Control – Film 4 – 6.35pm
Keanu Reeves doesn’t save the day as he steered clear of this weird slow-paced adventure.
Yep, it’s the high octane sequel to the thrilling Speed and it’s set… on a cruise ship.
Still, worth it for Willem Dafoe’s ker-azy turn as the leech-assisted villain.
Back to the Future III – E4 – 8pmÂ
It’s the wild, wild west but not the Will Smith version* as the popular time travel series comes to a lively end.
*That song is excellent, don’t @ us.
Taken 2 – Film 4 – 9pmÂ
The first Taken was a genuine surprise.
Liam Neeson’s presence as an actor has never been in doubt, but could he really mix it up with the Matt Damons and Daniel Craigs as a bona fide action star?
The answer was, of course, yes.
Cue a couple of rushed sequels, neither of which came close to capturing the weird charm of the original. Still, it’s Neeson killing terrorists en masse, what more do you want of a Tuesday evening?
Rocky II – ITV 4 – 11pm
Rocky and Apollo face off again as the stakes prove even more emotional.
Fruitvale Station – Film 4 – 12.40am
Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler seem to be a perfect match for one another, having dazzled with Creed and stolen the show in Black Panther.
In 2013, they teamed up for this unflinching biopic of Oscar Grant III, a young African-American man whose death at the hands of police prompted a huge public outcry.
