Movies on TV Wednesday 16 October

Your midweek movie fix.

It’s that time.

The highlight of your day.

Here’s the best movies on the television on this Wednesday 16 October…

Terminator 2: Judgement Day – ITV4 – 9pm

One of the all-time great action movies.

The Bank Job – Film 4 – 9pm

Jason Statham plots a daring heist.

The Big Lebowski – TCM – 11.10pm

The Dude abides.

12 Monkeys – SyFy – 11.10pm

Excellent weird sci-fi from the mind of Terry Gilliam that finds future criminal Bruce Willis travelling back in time to try and save the world from a viral outbreak.

In Bruges – Film 4 – 11.15pm

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson attend to hitman business only for a darkly comic existential crisis to get in the way.

Marianne and Leonard: Words of Love – BBC Two – 2am

It’s a shame that BBC has buried this one so late in the schedule, but if you are pulling a graveyard shift, you could do much worse than this documentary on the difficult love between Leonard Cohen and his muse Marianne Ihlen.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
