Or should we say, his only Oscar-winning performance so far…
Monday.
Here we go again.
The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart – Sky Showcase – 8pm
A lovely documentary about one of the most celebrated pop acts of all time.
Eagle Eye – Film4 – 9pm
Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan find themselves being hunted down by the government when they both become primary suspects in a terrorist attack. A great set-up but weak ending to this high-tech action thriller.
A Nightmare On Elm Street – TCM – 9pm
Wes Craven’s classic 80’s horror sees a group of teens tormented by a killer who seems to be able to exist in all of their dreams.
Taken – ITV4 – 9pm
Liam Neeson has a set of skills. You know the rest.
No Country For Old Men – TG4 – 9.30pm
Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Barden star in this ultra-violent neo-western from the Coen Brothers, with a group of folk from all sides of life heading on a collision course not everyone will walk away from.
The Revenant – ITV4 – 11pm
Our pick of the night is – maybe shockingly to some – the only time Leonardo DiCaprio has ever won an Oscar.
He plays the lead in this revenge movie about a 1820s frontiersman who has been left for dead following a horrific bear attack, but he attempts to recover while tracking down the man (Tom Hardy) responsible.
American Made – Film4 – 11.20pm
Considering it is Tom Cruise Week and everything, why not celebrate with this decent true life action-drama about a pilot who gets caught up with the CIA, transporting lots and lots and LOTS of drugs across the US border.
Southpaw – Film4 – 1.35am
Jake Gyllenhaal stars in this highly emotional sports drama about a boxer who is attempting to both get back custody of his young daughter and reinvigorate his boxing career.
