MTV are bringing back Celebrity Deathmatch

Celebrity Deathmatch

Let the carnage commence.

Rich and famous people live in a bubble.

Ok, we’re not going to generalise and speak for every actor, musician, celebrity etc, but when you’re used to always getting your own way and being told that you’re great, egos can get inflated and arguments can happen.

Hollywood is brimming with people that have beef. Yep, there’s more beef than the beefiest beefcake that’s eating a cake that’s made of beef.

On this note, MTV are rediscovering a way for the world’s most famous people to settle their scores and wipe the slate clean…by beating the living shite clay out of their rivals.

Ice Cube will produce and star in the new version of the show that garnered a strong cult following when it first aired on MTV.

At present, there are plans to shop the show around to several different television channels and streaming services, as MTV Studios aims to launch the series on a third party network by next year.

“We’re excited to grow our partnership with Ice Cube and Cube Vision to reimagine this fan favourite. Deathmatch was the meme before memes, remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, funny way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today’s pop culture where it belongs — in the wrestling ring,” said MTV president Chris McCarthy. “

The show previously returned in 2015 but here’s hoping that it sticks around for a bit longer.

After all, we all know of a few famous faces that need to be taken down a peg or two – for strictly satirical purposes (cough, cough).
