The guest list of celebrities for the new season has also been revealed.
There was a time when MTV was the ruler of all things reality TV.
Remember The Hills? Remember Pimp My Ride?
But perhaps the pinnacle of their line-up, the celebrity-filled jewel of their reality crown, was Cribs.
Basically, a famous person would invite a camera crew into their ridiculous huge home (or sometimes it would be someone else's and they wouldn't mention that... we're looking at you, Robbie Williams!), and we'd get to see what was in their fridge, how many fancy cars they had, and - of course - "where the magic happens".
The highlight of the show during its initial run was the hour-long special with Mariah Carey in 2002, which remains a benchmark for entertainment television. Working out in her home gym in six-inch heels? Iconic.
Fans of the show will be very happy to hear that MTV is bringing the show back, with Deadline reporting that the new season will include house visits to the likes of Martha Stewart, Big Sean, Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, JoJo Siwa, Kathy Griffin, Marsai Martin, Snooki, Tinashe and Rick Ross.
Nina L. Diaz, the President of Content and Chief Creative Officer of MTV Entertainment Group, had this to say about the comeback:
"Cribs didn’t simply introduce the celebreality genre, it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media. We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world."
The first episode of the new series is due to arrive at 9.30pm on Wednesday, 11 August in the US. We'll have to wait and see if we get it around a similar time/date on this side of the Atlantic.
