One for fans of murder mysteries and Nordic noirs.
Earlier this week, JOE wrote about the Netflix original series The Rain being rediscovered years after its release. However, a new show on the streamer is also earning rave reviews from viewers.
That is the Swedish series A Nearly Normal Family, a six-part adaptation of the bestselling book of the same name by M.T. Edvardsson.
The plot synopsis for the show reads:
"The Sandells live a quiet life in an affluent suburb. Ulrika is a busy lawyer, Adam is a priest, and their daughter, Stella, works in a bakery. Everything appears status quo — until Stella’s suspected in the murder of the man she’s been seeing, who was killed after a night out.
"Now Stella’s in custody, and her parents are trying to keep it all together as the investigation ensues. They want to help Stella at any cost, but how much do they really know about their daughter — or each other?"
In the days following its release onto Netflix, A Nearly Normal Family appears to have gone down a treat with viewers - earning an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
