Netflix are looking to keep producing some original content to add to their collection

There was plenty of buzz about the Agents of SHIELD show from Marvel before it started out, but it seems that after some very lukewarm reviews it might not be long for this world.

Netflix will be hoping that their exclusive deal with Marvel doesn’t have to deal with such problems after they announced earlier this week that they have signed a deal to bring four original series revolving around Marvel heroes to the streaming service.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage will all have their own shows, while it seems that The Defenders will also make an appearance in their own mini-series.

The shows will be made in conjunction with ABC studios, and Alan Fine, head of Marvel Entertainment stated that they felt Netflix was the best option for being able to produce the type of rich story telling that they would need to do the stories justice when speaking to Mashable earlier this week.

The streaming platform is becoming increasingly involved in producing their own content, and if they can be half as well received as Orange is the New Black or House of Cards, then they’ll be doing well.
