The documentary we all need.

The true crime genre has been incredibly lucrative for Netflix as there’s an insatiable demand from audiences to see stories of this ilk. That said, there are times when you just want to relax on the couch and be surrounded by some good boys and girls.

Well, Netflix have a treat for dog lovers everywhere as they’re about to launch a new documentary series dedicated to man’s best friend.

So. Many. Good. Doggos!

According to Variety, the six-episode series will tell six individual stories that “celebrate the deep emotional bonds between people and their beloved four-legged friends” from countries including Syria, Japan, Costa Rica, Italy and the United States.

“Dogs don’t just make us feel loved, dogs make us feel safe. In the world we live in today, no matter how divided we are, we should take care to realise how much dogs mean to all of us, and how our bond with them can help bring us together,” said the creator of the series, Glen Zipper.

The first episode, directed by Heidi Ewing, follows an 11-year-old girl who suffers from traumatic seizures, and her certified service dog, Rory.

In other episodes, viewers will meet an Italian fisherman who relies on his dog to be a partner in the business; two of the world’s most renowned dog groomers from Japan and a sanctuary deep in the Costa Rican rainforest that houses thousands of dogs to keep them from living on the streets.

It’s bound to be emotional.

Dogs will be released on Netflix on 16 November.
