Dave Hanratty

Netflix The King

All hail?

Welcome to #TRAILERCHEST, where we’re taking a look at the first trailer for forthcoming Netflix movie The King.

Plot’s it all about?

Time to see if much-hyped indie wunderkind Timothée Chalamet can cut it as a leading man, essentially.

The official synopsis:

“Hal, wayward prince and reluctant heir to the English throne, has turned his back on royal life and is living among the people.

“But when his tyrannical father dies, Hal is crowned King Henry V and is forced to embrace the life he had previously tried to escape.

“Now the young king must navigate the palace politics, chaos and war his father left behind, and the emotional strings of his past life.”

Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, Joel Edgerton, Lily-Rose Depp, Ben Mendelsohn, Sean Harris

Directed by: David Michôd, who previously helmed Animal Kingdom and The Rover (both great) and War Machine (not so great).

Release date: The King gets its world premiere in Venice on 2 September and shall be crowned on Netflix at a later, currently undetermined date.

Enjoy…
