Serious talent here in this Netflix original.

What do you get when you combine Narcos, The Town, Sons of Anarchy, and A Most Violent Year?

Well, nothing because it’s impossible to make something coherent from all those brilliant pieces of work, but you can take cast members from each of them and assemble something that’s bold, gritty, and tough as hell.

Lo and behold, that’s just the thing that we’re getting in the new actioner Triple Frontier and the cast is seriously impressive.

Ben Affleck (The Town), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Garrett Hedlund (Four Brothers) and Pedro Pascal (Narcos) band together as they attempt to rob one of the world’s most violent cartels.

In terms of the plot, we’re told that the story revolves around five former Special Forces operatives who reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely-populated multi-border zone of South America.

For the first time in their prestigious careers, these unsung heroes undertake this dangerous mission for themselves, instead of their country. But when events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, loyalties and morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival.

The film is directed by J.C. Chandor, who made the brilliant Margin Call and All Is Lost, so there’s serious talent behind the camera too.

After watching the trailer, we got a strong Narcos in the jungle vibe from this one.

Triple Frontier is available to watch on Netflix in March.
