It all makes sense…
If you’re fan of some quiz shows to pass your evening, the chances are you’ve tuned into The Chase at some stage.
The show is hugely popular and has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years and the show will always have a cult following in Ireland and Britain with Bradley Walsh entertaining viewers.
Answering questions on live television is surely nerve wracking, although it didn’t affect The Telminator on his appearance (who may just have been the greatest ever contestant on The Chase).
The most famous chaser of them all is Mark Labbett, who is more commonly known as “The Beast”.
We always assumed he was known by this name because he’s quite a tall and well-built fellow, and is very strong on general knowledge. He also regularly mauls contestants (not literally) in the head-to-heads, so that would go a long way to explaining his tag, “The Beast”.
But it turns out, that is not the case.
The uncommon surname of the former maths teacher, Labbett, has another meaning in French. “La Bête” in French means “The Beast”.
Labbett has been a chaser since 2009 and has appeared on the American and Australian versions of the show.
He has also appeared on Who Wants to be a Millionaire… twice.
