Vomit bags have been handed out at some screenings of the movie that is receiving acclaim from horror fans.

A new horror film is apparently so disturbing and extreme that people have been reportedly fainting, throwing up and leaving the cinema.

Terrifier 2 follows Art the Clown as he haunts a teenage girl and her brother on Halloween night.

It was recently released in cinemas in the US and you can watch the pretty full-on trailer below, to get a taste of what the film is all about.

The movie has received widespread praise from audiences and critics alike and currently has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

But it seems like the movie has been a bit too much for some.

One fan took to Twitter to share a picture of their friend outside in the cinema foyer after passing out, before stating that they highly recommended the film.

A second said: “Movie-goers are reportedly throwing up at the theatre due to some of the sequences in Terrifier 2.

“This is seriously one of the best years for horror films ever.”

This was echoed by another, who tweeted: “Holy s***! Terrifier 2 was fantastic! Definitely not for the weak stomachs!

“Someone actually fainted during my screening of this movie.”

Meanwhile, another Twitter user wrote: “Terrifier 2 was an amazing gory mess.

“The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair; another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say; and walking out the theatre door, I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom.”

Someone else tweeted that one film festival has been handing out “vomit bags” for people about to watch the film.

Steven Barton, one of the producers of Terrifier 2, has even had to come out and issue a warning about the movie

He posted on his Twitter page: “This movie contains scenes of graphic violence and brutal depictions of horror.

“Viewers who are faint of heart, prone to light headaches or have weak stomachs are advised to take extreme caution.

“There have already been numerous instances of fainting and vomiting in theatres. For those choosing to continue, you have been warned…”

Despite being released in cinemas in the US, the horror film is not expected to have a theatrical release in Ireland

But don’t worry, if you reckon you’re up to the challenge of sitting through the entire thing, then Terrifier 2 is available to buy on Blu-Ray and DVD here from 24 October.
