Panned by critics upon its release, the film boasts incredible talent both on and off-screen.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 3 November) is It's All About Love, the 2003 star-studded sci-fi romantic drama from Oscar-winning filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (Another Round, The Celebration).

The story is set in a near-future Earth that has cooled down to such an extent that it snows across the world in July. Also, people are dying of mysterious causes, and the global economy is on the brink of collapse.

"In the middle of this, John (Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix) and his wife, the famous figure skater Elena (Claire Danes), are getting a divorce," the plot synopsis adds.

"John soon learns that Elena's family has cloned her so they can continue to live off her success even after she stops skating, but they'll have to get rid of the original first."

It's All About Love co-stars Oscar-winner Sean Penn as John's brother, Marciello, with its cast also including Margo Martindale and Mark Strong.

Full disclosure, we've never seen the movie, but we've always been curious to check it out.

Despite the film's acclaimed cast and crew (it was also shot by Danny Boyle's frequent cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle), It's All About Love was mostly panned. Many reviewers called its plot "weird" and "incoherent", though some praised its ambition.

Perhaps this poor reception is why, in the five years of covering what movies are on television each day, we've never seen it aired on TV.

Could It's All About Love be worth another look nearly 25 years after its release? Well, it's on Film4 tonight/tomorrow morning at 1.50am. If that's too late, it will also be available to stream on Channel 4's website from Wednesday, 4 November.
