BULLET TRAIN – 3 August

When he’s tasked with boarding the infamous titular train to simply collect a bag, a freelance agent (Brad Pitt) finds he’s wandered into the middle of a mini-warzone, as the train is already filled with a group of assassins and gangsters, all with violently competing goals.

NOPE – 12 August

Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) brings us another huge horror movie, this time focusing on a brother (Daniel Kaluuya) and sister (Keke Palmer) who begin to suspect their isolated horse ranch is being watched by a UFO.

ORPHAN: FIRST KILL – 19 August

A prequel to the 2009 horror which still contains one of the most surprising twist endings of all time, we spend more time with Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), this time impersonating the missing daughter of a rich family, but it isn’t long before her “mother” (Julia Stiles) begins to suspect something is amiss…

BEAST – 26 August

Heading off on a holiday to South Africa with his two teenage daughters to help heal after his wife recently passed away, a wildlife biologist (Idris Elba) is forced to protect his family at any cost when a ferocious, man-hunting lion begins to relentlessly pursue them.

THE INVITATION – 26 August

With no known family to speak of, a young woman (Nathalie Emmanuel) takes a DNA test and discovers she has some long lost (and incredibly rich!) cousins she had no idea existed. Finally reuniting with them, she soon uncovers that her new family have some truly twisted secrets, and she has a major part to play in them…

OFFICIAL COMPETITION – 26 August

Having toured the recent festival circuit to great success, this sharp comedy tells the story of an ageing multimillionaire (Antonio Banderas) who decides to fund a movie by a lauded director (Penelope Cruz), but the project may be more trouble than it is actually worth.
