This new Netflix addition could be what you spend your weekend watching

Check this out.

Based on a true story…

There’s plenty of options for you out there at the minute. Rick and Morty is being released weekly if you’re into absolute chaos and inappropriateness.

Narcos (this article isn’t about Narcos, don’t worry) is back and I haven’t seen a couple of my friends for the last few of days as they’re holed up in their rooms (I tell myself it’s because they’re watching the series about cartels).

If you haven’t seen the trailer for it, take a look below because it looks amazing.

There’s also this documentary which received 100% on Rotten Tomatoes which is due for release next week.

Among the list of new releases this month is a movie that has slipped somewhat under the radar.

Bleed For This tells the inspirational story of World Champion Boxer Vinny Pazienza who, following a near fatal car accident, was unsure if he’d ever be able to walk again.

While the story itself may be predictable, the performance of Miles Teller as Vinny and the story itself still grab your attention and keep it throughout the movie.

We’re introduced to the Rhode Island-born-and-bred boxer as he’s getting ready for his fight and seems incapable of taking anything seriously, which can lead to frustration at times while watching.

Down on his luck, he starts training with the alcoholic Kevin, played by the brilliant Aaron Eckhart. Though the training is unconventional, it works. The bond between the two marks the meeting of a pair of underdogs, both chewed up and spat aside by the sport they love.

As we mentioned earlier, it all comes crashing down, and we’re left with a tale of despair which turns to hope, then perseverance and a doggedness and fire that can’t be quenched.

While the movie is based on a true story, the timelines and events of the movie are a bit off but this only serves to heighten the drama. After all, never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

But what’s clear is that Pazienza is a larger than life character, brilliantly portrayed by the charismatic Teller as he combines the hard edge of pummelling an opponent in the ring with a love for his family and where he comes from.

What combines on screen is a decent result and well worth a couple of hours of your time.
