The new trailer for The Mandalorian looks tough as nails and signals a whole new direction for Star Wars

Mandalorian

A return to classic Star Wars.

Aside from being a bloody brilliant film from the opening credits right until the end, The Empire Strikes Back was instrumental in setting up one glorious scene with very little dialogue.

Remember when Darth Vader calls in the scum of the galaxy – bounty hunters from every distant planet – in his search for Han Solo? Well, that one lineup features more menace, danger and villainy than most of George Lucas’ prequels.

Boba Fett famously told us that Han Solo is “no good to me dead” and that ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ attitude is brimming in the latest trailer for the new Star Wars show, The Mandalorian.

As it begins, we’re treated to some of the action that showrunner Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King) debuted at D23 Expo this summer but we’re loving the shot of The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) unloading one of his bounties who is frozen in carbonite.

There’s a real western vibe to the proceedings as we see a prisoner being dragged behind a TIE fighter and a look at Imperial governor Moff Gideon (Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito).

We also get a glimpse at Cara Dune (Gina Carano) as she fights with a pair of trandoshans and a rhino-like beast, and a look at Carl Weathers and Bill Burr in action.

The Mandalorian will be unleashed on 12 November on Disney+.

Sadly, there’s still no news on if and when Disney’s new streaming service will be launched in Ireland.

However, if it arrives, we’re certain that The Mandalorian is going to be a massive draw.

Take a look at what’s in store.
