Seth Rogen’s new film, The Interview, which is due out in October is being labelled as an ‘act of war’ by North Korea.

Hollywood stars James Franco and Seth Rogen star in the action-comedy film in which they play a talkshow host and his producer who are invited to interview Kim Jong-un. They are then recruited by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean leader.

The trailer was released on YouTube and needless to say, the North Korean lads are far from happy. They are seeing this as an affront to their very existence and have threatened war with the US if the film is indeed released.

A spokesman for North Korea said, “Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated.”

He added that the “reckless US provocative insanity” of mobilising a “gangster filmmaker” to challenge the North’s leadership was triggering “a gust of hatred and rage” among North Korean people and soldiers.

“If the US administration allows and defends the showing of the film, a merciless counter-measure will be taken,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.

Call me fickle, but I’m okay with not seeing this film if it means the world doesn’t end.
