It’s official… Anthony Joshua hits much harder than Graham Norton

Who knew?

When you set Anthony Joshua up in front of a punching machine, you must expect the top score to be smashed.

The owner of some of the heaviest hands in modern day boxing has 19 knockout wins from 19 professional outings so of course he’s going to have the edge when the bag is released on the punch-o-meter.

‘AJ’ was a guest on The Graham Norton Show this week and saved the best for last in the power challenge after Rachel Weisz, Martin Freeman, Greg Davies and Graham Norton failed to break the machine record.

The reigning IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight champion didn’t exactly load up when the chance to hit the bag presented itself but there was never any doubt that he was going to come out on top.

There was no sign of the shoulder injury that Joshua picked up during his victory over Wladimir Klitschko in April.

And everything is currently pointing towards a rematch between the London 2012 gold medallist and Klitschko, after the IBF granted an exemption request for Joshua earlier this week.

“We’re looking at all the potential sites for the rematch. It’s not really a case of them having to let us know by a certain date. For us, it’s happening,” Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently told Boxing News Online.

“Until [Klitschko] turns round and says ‘no, I’m retiring,’ we’re full steam ahead. At the moment all I can tell you is that it’s happening because we haven’t heard otherwise.”
