We’re going back to Ballydung Manor.
D-list celebrities, spoofers and chancers everywhere will be crapping their jocks with the news that Pádraig Judas O’Leprosy and Rodraig Spartacus O’Leprosy will be returning to the TV screens and they won’t be alone.
RTÉ have announced their new programming schedule for the new season and after scaring us at bedtime and fronting their own chat show, the brothers are back but they’re welcoming a new face to Ballydung Manor.
New co-host Doireann Garrihy will join the lads this year and she might not know quite what she’s letting herself in for.

After originally appearing on The Den, Ciaran Morrison and Mick O’Hara’s creations really took on pop-culture status after they moved into the manor that’s found just the bypass past Ballywank, County Ring.
After living with their disease-ridden pet cat Pox and a nicotine-addicted monkey named Spunky, the lads found fame by telling some incredibly dirty jokes that took the mickey out of all aspects of Irish life and folklore.
There was also that whole chainsaw thing.
Over the course of five seasons, their chat show absolutely tormented a plethora of famous faces like Rosanna Davison, Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Rebecca Loos, Caroline Morahan, Anna Nolan and Twink. They also had a few pageants to find Miss Muck, Miss Poledance Fitness and Miss Muff.
In 2009, Podge and Rodge’s Stickit Inn was launched to “test” the brains of their celebrity guests but after being cancelled in 2010, fans have been wondering if the lads would make a comeback.
Well, it’s happening and we can’t wait.
Aside from Podge and Rodge’s return, RTÉ have also commissioned a few other comedy shows:
Finding Joy – Written by and starring Amy Huberman as Joy, a woman who finds herself thrust into the limelight as she tries to get over a break-up. Also starring Aisling Bea, Laura Whitmore and Jennifer Rainsford.
Women on the Verge – Darkly comic tale about three friends whose lives are going in the wrong direction. Written by Sharon Horgan and Lorna Martin and starring Horgan, Kerry Condon, Eileen Walsh and Nina Sosanya. Co-produced by UKTV and RTÉ.
Bridget & Eamon – Jennifer Zamparelli and Bernard O’Shea return for a fourth series of the comedy that has proved a hit with Irish and UK audiences.
