Looking to kick back on the sofa tonight with a good film?

Well, perhaps one of these movies airing on TV tonight will catch your fancy.

Here are your options for Tuesday, 6 September.

Alita: Battle Angel – Film4 – 9pm

Set on Earth far in the future, a cyborg (Rosa Salazar) awakens in a new body with no memory of her past and sets out to rediscover her destiny.

Co-written by James Cameron (Aliens, The Terminator), this underrated sci-fi action epic boasts incredible special effects.

Airplane II: The Sequel – Comedy Central – 9pm

This comedy spoof sequel is nowhere near as good as the original but it has its moments.

For a Few Dollars More – ITV4 – 9pm

The second entry in the legendary Dollars Trilogy of Westerns starring Clint Eastwood.

Payback – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

An action thriller that stars Mel Gibson as a man out for payback.

Johnny Mnemonic – Great! Movies Classic – 9pm

Keanu Reeves plays a man with an overloaded cybernetic brain implant designed to store information in this critically-panned cyberpunk movie.

Stake Land – Horror Xtra – 10.50pm

This solid indie horror takes place in a world of vampires and follows an expert vampire hunter and his young protégé as they travel toward sanctuary.

Westworld – Turner Classic Movies – 11.05pm

This sci-fi horror set on a futuristic Western-themed amusement park containing lifelike androids that begin to malfunction inspired the hit HBO series of the same name.

Eastern Promises – BBC Two – 11.15pm

In our pick for tonight, a midwife (Naomi Watts) at a London hospital discovers a diary that belonged to one of her deceased patients containing information that threatens the Russian Mafia.

At the same, a strong-arm man (Viggo Mortensen) working for the crime organisation plots to rise up through its ranks.

A typically gritty and twisty crime thriller screenplay from Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Peaky Blinders) is given extra punch here thanks to hard hitting, unflinching direction from horror legend David Cronenberg (The Fly, Videodrome).

The performances too are also flawless, particularly Mortensen in an Oscar-nominated turn.

Assassin’s Creed – Film4 – 11.25pm

A divisive big screen adaptation of the popular video game series starring Michael Fassbender.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
